Tim Warner
Consulting Enginner for communications systems, audio, and acoustics

Tim Warner has experience in all facets of wireless communications -- planning and design to construction and operation. His radio career began in a high school closed circuit station. He continued to work in radio and television through college. As chief engineer of public radio station WUNC, he prepared allocations studies (the old way – with graph paper by hand) to begin consulting. He was part of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting’s Station Advisory Service. His radio station positions included Program Director and General Manager – a broad perspective of radio station operations.

In 1991 Tim turned to full time consulting engineering. The primary focus has been FM stations – allocations studies, FCC applications, and construction. Other activities have included Broadcast Auxiliary licensing, satellite uplink and downlink, Educational Broadband Service/Broadband Radio Service (formerly ITFS and MMDS), acoustics, and other areas related to radio station operations.

  • Professional Engineer registered in the State of North Carolina.
  • Member of: Association of Federal Communications Consulting Engineers  (AFCCE)
  • Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE)
  • Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE)
  • National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE)
  • National Radio Systems Committee (NRSC)

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Physics from the College of Wooster (Wooster, Ohio)
  • Master's degree in Television and Radio from Syracuse University (Syracuse, New York)
  • Master of Engineering degree from North Carolina State University (Raleigh, North Carolina).
